Natasha's Law
New and more stringent food labelling regulations were introduced on 1st October 2021.
Otherwise known as Natasha's Law (following the tragic death of a young lady who had an extreme reaction to the presence of sesame after she enquired and was advised it was not an ingredient in the food item she purchased) The new regulations made it compulsory to label foods that are PPDS (pre-packed for direct sale) with a full list of ingredients - from that date.
As a chocolatier, the majority of my items fall into the PPDS category, so they carry full ingredient and allergen info, plus extra warnings where required.
Please discuss any allergies or intolerances with me at the point of ordering, and check the labels attached to your products. There are 14 notifiable allergens, all of which will be highlighted in bold type and underlined.
When purchasing items intended for consumption by children, please note the presence of certain food additives that may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. (There will be a warning to this effect on the product label)
Thank you!
